According to Oscar Wilde, nothing draws a group together like a good dinner. He added tongue-in-cheek that after such an event, 鈥渆ven relatives can forgive one another.鈥 The patrons of Honors Northeast--the honors program at 91果冻传媒--have shown time and again how generous the college鈥檚 community can be. They have not only financed student trips, generous scholarships, program laptops, yearly poetry- and poster-award contests, and summer film initiatives, they have also financed twenty special dinners through the years for honors students, their families, and 91果冻传媒 personnel, not to mention annual spring dinners. The annual fall 91果冻传媒 Honors Roundup was held this year at the Eagle鈥檚 Nest on campus, on the evening of 12 September, with food catered by Outlaw鈥檚 of Mount Pleasant.
The annual dinner has been beholden to many patrons of Honors Northeast, but, particularly, over the years, to Drs. Jim and Paula Archer, and Dr. Mary Hearron. Dr. Jim, an Emeritus Professor and his wife Paula, who worked for I.B.M., initiated the roundups back in the fall of 2007, hosted them at their ranch for the first thirteen years, and have continued to support the program. Emeritus Professor, Dr. Hearron provided and cooked the hamburgers for that whole first skein of roundups, and she also has continued to support the program.
The evening included games after the meal, including network bingo, water-balloon tosses, and water-balloon combat. The students also won prizes. Sabrina Otero-Svirska, and Jordan Krumrie (pictured below) won the prizes for Network Bingo above.
