The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met for its regular February meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20th at 5:30 p.m. All trustees were present. In the President’s report, Dr. Ron Clinton gave an update on the latest HB8 news and how it will affect the college’s funding. He said the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has drafted rules on the specifics of how the performance-based funding model will work...

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation recently received a $1,000 scholarship donation from Mr. Vernon Donaldson. The gift will provide two $500 scholarships that will be awarded for the Fall 2024 semester. One will be the Phyllis Autry Scholarship for nursing majors and the other will be the Sam Donaldson Memorial Scholarship for industrial technology majors. 

The Northeast Texas Community College Continuing Education department has a variety of learning opportunities lined up for the remainder of the spring semester. Northeast Texas Community College (91¹û¶³´«Ã½) and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) hosted a check presentation ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Newly Weds Foods in Mount Pleasant. The event celebrated a training partnership between 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ and Newly Weds Foods that was made possible thanks to a $193,372 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission. 

The Northeast Texas Community College Rodeo team will host the 3rd Annual Alumni Dinner and Fundraiser on Saturday March 2nd at The Pavilion at the Becky and Buddy McCollum Events Center on the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Grounds. The evening will start at 5:30pm with a Social Hour. 

The application deadline for an optimal scholarship of Honors Northeast for the 2024-2025 school year is 1 March. A student may apply directly through the application portal of the honors website: /academics/honors-northeast/application or email-scan an application obtained from a local guidance counselor to ayox@ntcc.edu.

The Northeast Texas Community College Agriculture Department is pleased to partner with Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) to offer a Homestead Fair and network event on Saturday, March 9th. The event will be held at 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ farm (across FM 1735 from the main campus) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required.

It's been a busy week for students who live in 91¹û¶³´«Ã½'s residential housing! It kicked off with a Super Bowl LVIII party on Sunday. Residents from both East and West housing gathered in the West common space to enjoy pizza and wings and cheer on their favorite teams...

Was it fifteen times, the official honors count, or twenty-five times? Kaden Groda, and Michael Rodriguez, two 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ honors scholars who were stalwart supporters of the coming film on the traveling preachers, believe it was more than the official count.  But they weren’t counting.  They loved the process. 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ Foundation scholarship applications are officially open for the 2024-2025 academic year. Anyone who plans to attend 91¹û¶³´«Ã½ for the Fall 2024 semester should consider applying online at ntcc.edu/scholarships. Applications are due March 22nd.
